In Finnish language they call it Financial Crisis Lama. Paradoxically "Lama" means also teacher or chief educator similar to the term "Guru" or dispeller of darkness. What is this thing teaching us and what is being at the moment intelligently compaginated by authorities in this light? We all agree Education should be the axis on promoting changes for a better world. Again history has proved once again traditional educative approaches are definitely wrong the same way as past "isms", they all come and go.
As a simple citizen of the world why not giving solutions as well? It doesn't matter if you are educated or not, share your opinion ok? I am really concerned on Education as Innovation promoter and sustainability creator but not based on the way of traditional approaches. Here I humbly share some insights and ideas on this matter as a conscious citizen of our beloved family named World:
I have to say it is time we go beyond Intellect regarding Education. It was not a dream when we (Professor Dr. Rosilda Miranda and me) started our thesis confirming these hypothesis, we did a deep research at a very famous university of america and the result was extraordinarily impressive.
Intellect represent just 5 to 10% of our overall brain development, we should stop once and for all this mechanism of repeating like parrots what books say, repeating mathematical formulas, accounting terms, etc.
We should stop once and for all specialization and concentrating instead on generalization. A more ample vision training is required. But what this does really mean? Generalization in this case is Humanism in its best sense, the best Managers come from Humanistic fields. Human Beings have more than a cold rational analysis skills. The secret of a truly holistic educational system is based on an overall development system that would also include the Spiritual level. allowing our "consciousness" level to rise. We are "Teaching" our students rather than "Instructing" them. "Instruction" means Integration of the Personality: That integration is the alignment and perfect coordination of: Body, Intellect, Mind, Ego and Soul or in a simple sentence: when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in perfect harmony.
Pondering this 5 strategies separately in any school will estructure so many human qualities rather than skills. When we simply "teach" we are not Instructing them not to steal money from the people or his or her company, by instruction we are enabling her or him to have a very strong ethical sense. Instruction means exploring this 5 big areas of our personality, thus activating so many dormant zones deep inside of our subconcious mind making it more conscious.
I still wonder why don't Harvard include in its educational program a very important subject related to these big areas of our personality? And please do not tell me that is a non viable "idealistic dream" otherwise I would say all the scientia, gnaritas, conscientia, etc, we see nowadays, is idealistic cause all what we have nowadays: Internet, Mobiles, Fax, PC, TV, phones, exist cause a few good men were sure about this universal and idealistic law: "The Foundamental of this visible world is the invisible." Our Education represent just the top part of the iceberg, Instruction reside deep down our Inner Being. It is time we start focusing our attention to those areas.
We must act as soon as possible.

More than 80% of teachers and professors have forgotten the real meaning of "Education". The word Education comes from the latin root 'Educare' and it means to draw or express what is already inside us. Based on this (and following the same thought from famous philosophers who are the same who define our world's knowledge), this mean in the whole essence of its meaning we are already "divine", but we have to say that "Divinity" is our true nature, and that the "Godhead" is manifested as Love, Truth, Peace, Righteousness and Non-violence in all our thoughts, words and actions.
"Professor" word, also comes from the latin root "profesare" it means to make the student love what they like and want to do, not just a profession to earn money but to LOVE what you do as whole, therefore following the same logic we can say the main purpose of Education is Character to take the student beyond his/her solely and mainly personal interest and to include others and the world.
It is not difficult. And please do not confuse some terms used here such as "Divinity", "Godhead" etc, with religion or dogma. Far beyond from that. Let's get practical, with a down to earth attitude analyse and make the necessary research and scientific approaches if we really want to DO something, it doesn't matter if we have to drink from religions, ancient teachings sources, etc.
