When did you listen to Earth the last time? Not the Michael Jackson song, I mean really the sound of our planet. The bird singing in the tree across the road, the trees rustling in the wind, the sound of a small river or just sit and listen to the raindrops fall.I believe that we have too many distractions and noises around us. How many times do you switch the computer, the television and the radio off and take the time to have a moment to enjoy the silence?
So many things came with having no car, You can feel the seasons, in summer it is hot, in winter it is cold, violent storms in autumn and constantly changing weather in spring. I know we all notice these things but do you really feel them? And I mean not just the two minutes that you need to get to your car. I believe we miss out on a lot of life by living so fast. Now what is life you might ask and you might think that going to parties, working or having friends over for a barbecue in the back garden is life. But I don’t mean that life, I mean the real thing. We grow, we breath and we die. Some faster, some slower.
The moment I slowed down and started walking my kids thought me an important lesson. Look with your eyes, listen to the sounds with your ears and touch everything with your hands.
We have an amazing machine in our body that is called brain and when I tell you I touched a stone you all know what it feels like, because at some point in your childhood you touched a stone and the memory of it is stored forever. But when have you touched one the last time? Touched snow withouth gloves? Or sat in a meadow?

Our planet is awesome. I love the Discovery Channel too but sitting in a field and see all the life around you is incredible. All the different bugs and insects alone are unbelievable. And if you are lucky you see a fox or rabbits in the twilight.
The feeling of really feeling smelling, hearing and seeing nature is something invaluable and I can not describe it with the right words. It makes me feel warm and whole and happy. Slow down and walk to the store. At first all you see is the pollution and the dirt and the obstacles. Your legs hurt because you are not used to walking longer distances. If you do it regularly you will see the world again and you will feel and live the world again. You will see the flower that is growing in a crack in the pavement and you will greet it like an old friend and when it is removed by workers because the pavement has to be spotless you will miss it. Sounds crazy right? Not so much after you experienced it. Trust me.
Our planet is beautiful but we forgot how to see, hear and feel it. Take the time to live life and slow down even if it is just for 30 minutes a day, check this video or go out now and enjoy, thanks xcapedcat.com for it.
